Marketing Practices

1. Introduction
MAF Loans LLC ("MAF," "we," "us," or "our") operates MAF Finance, a loan-matching and lead-generation platform available through our mobile app and website at mafloans.com. We are not a lender. We do not extend credit, set interest rates, or make approval decisions.
This Marketing Practices document explains how we communicate with consumers, how we advertise the App, and how marketing choices differ from your right to opt out of the sale of personal information under our Privacy Policy. We follow applicable federal and state laws, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the CAN-SPAM Act, and FTC and CFPB guidance for financial lead generators.
2. Marketing vs. Data Sale
Marketing opt-outs and Do Not Sell requests are separate. Opting out of promotional emails or texts stops those messages from MAF but does not, by itself, stop us from selling your personal information to lenders and other buyers. To opt out of sale, use our Do Not Sell My Personal Information page or email [email protected].
When you submit an application, you may also receive calls, texts, or emails from third-party buyers who purchased your lead. Their communications are governed by their own policies.
3. Marketing Channels
With your consent where required, we may contact you through:
- Email: Transactional messages and, with consent, marketing about the App and financial products.
- SMS/text: OTP codes, transactional texts, and marketing texts only if you opt in. Message and data rates may apply.
- Telephone: Account-related calls and, with prior express written consent, marketing calls using automated or prerecorded technology as permitted by the TCPA.
- Push notifications: App alerts you can disable in device settings.
- Online advertising: Display, search, social, and affiliate campaigns that may use cookies or pixels as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Consent
We obtain affirmative consent before sending marketing communications where the law requires it. During registration or application, you may see separate checkboxes for marketing email, SMS, and phone contact.
By using the App and agreeing to our Terms of Use, you also acknowledge that we may sell your personal information to third parties as described in our Privacy Policy—a practice distinct from MAF's own marketing messages.
5. How to Opt Out of MAF Marketing
- Email: Click the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or email [email protected]. We honor opt-outs within 10 business days under CAN-SPAM.
- SMS: Reply STOP to opt out; reply HELP for help. Transactional and security texts may continue.
- Phone: Email [email protected] to opt out of MAF telemarketing. You may also register with the National Do Not Call Registry at donotcall.gov.
- Push: Disable notifications in your device operating system settings.
Transactional communications (password resets, application status, legal notices) may continue after a marketing opt-out.
6. TCPA Compliance
We comply with the TCPA and related FCC rules. Without your prior express written consent, we do not:
- Place autodialed or prerecorded calls to wireless numbers without prior express written consent
- Send marketing text messages without prior express written consent
- Call numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry for telemarketing purposes (unless you have given us permission to do so)
If you provide your mobile number and consent to marketing contact, you authorize us to reach you at that number using automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchasing goods or services from MAF, where prohibited by law.
7. CAN-SPAM Compliance
Our commercial email practices include:
- Do not use false or misleading header information
- Do not use deceptive subject lines
- Identify messages as advertisements where required
- Include our physical mailing address in commercial emails
- Honor opt-out requests within 10 business days
- Do not sell or transfer email addresses of persons who have opted out
8. Advertising Standards
Our advertising strives to be accurate, transparent, and fair. In particular:
- We identify MAF as a matching and lead-generation platform, not a direct lender
- We do not guarantee approval, funding, or specific rates
- Illustrative APR ranges (for example, 5.99%–35.99%) are examples only; actual terms are set by lenders
- We avoid pressure tactics, bait-and-switch offers, and misleading "guaranteed approval" claims
- We follow FTC and CFPB expectations for lead generators and financial advertising
9. Third-Party Marketing and Affiliates
We work with affiliates, ad networks, and analytics partners to acquire users and measure campaigns. When we sell your application data to lenders or marketing buyers, those parties may contact you independently. See our Privacy Policy and Do Not Sell page for sale opt-out rights.
10. Internal Do-Not-Contact List
You may request placement on our internal do-not-contact list for MAF marketing by emailing [email protected]. This does not affect contacts from third parties who purchased your information before your request.
11. Changes
We may update this document from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the Effective Date above and, where appropriate, notice through the App or website.
